Chentelle asked:

I am 33 and in very good health.
I workout and eat right.
My blood pressure has always been on the low side.
I have just been through a very stressful time in my life and all of a sudden my blood pressure has gone up to between 135 over 92 to 148 over 109 / I have checked it at different times over the past few days after having a nurse tell me it was to high durring a life insurance exam. Can stress do this?

nesta asked:

I am trying to fathom whether my symptoms (regular and literal tearing out of hair, ripping clothes, crying) Huge insecurity could be connected to stress and PMT.
I have always had periods of depression but never like this.
BUT : I have had aseries of low paid temporary jobs in the last couple of years. Have been living in a renovation project, paint, dust, mess. My partner is unhappy with his work sitiation and to top, I have a low libido and his is through the roof. Am I going mental?

What processes occur in the body during a period of critical stress?

Dennis L asked:

Can someone who knows this stuff please inform me on the processes that occur in the body during a period of severe stress. I have heard things like:
stress makes you gain weight,
stress makes you lose muscle mass,
stress causes increased blood sugar levels,
stress causes the breakdown of protein in the body and increased fat storage.
However, I am not exactly sure how many of these are true and am interested in finding out the real facts behind stress.
