Try to be conscious of your breathing. Breathe with your abdomen not your chest, so when you inhale your tummy goes out, and when you exhale your tummy pushes the air up and out. Slowly in thru the nose, slowly out thru pursed lips. Let all the tension go. This is called calmative breathing. We tend to chest-breathe when we're stressed or nervous. You get a lot more oxygen when you breathe with your abs.

Also be aware of your shoulders. We tend to hike them up when we're stressed. Pull them back down. Down and back. If you're sitting at a desk all the time, definitely do some stretches.

Roll the shoulders slowly in big backward circles, then in forward circles. To stretch your neck, look straight ahead, inhale, then gently tilt your head towards the right, stretch and exhale as your ear nears your shoulder. Then do the left side. Be gentle. If you're really tight, you may not be able to go too far. That's okay. Just do what you can. Don't push it. Again, when you exhale, slowly let all that tension go.

Imagine being in Jamaica, or Amsterdam is my escape. My better half swears by periodic breaks that include push ups, and walks around his building.I'm sticking to my guns on this one.

I know this one!! There is only one compound produced naturally by the human body that can reduce stress called Beta Endorphins. There are only two ways to make your body produce more Beta Endorphins. One is exercise, the other, is Laughing. So, laugh as much as possible.

I too work in a big corp company. I have done little things to help me out ...The usual stress balls or toys are good but I also tend to get up ad stretch if it gets really bad. I 'm sure this will sound strange but I have completely set up my desk so that it is calming. it's got a few pics of my favourite things pinned up, I have some crytals in a pouch(yeah it's all new agy stuff but it works for me) and I have a small box of favourite things I pull out when I am really having a hard time. The box has an old concert ticket, a sentimental photo, an old invite a tourist map from when I was overseas and a few other bits and pieces. This works for me. It makes me stop and breath. Also if you have a gym near your work that offers pilates or Yoga at lunch time I suggest youtry that as it's awesome to really chill out to.
